Mohair!

When Katie was destashing, I grabbed this bag of mohair!

2 balls of blue, 1.5 balls of yellow, 1 ball of red and about 1 ball of pink.
The blue and yellow are the only ones with labels, and they're very old and hard to read. The blue is Spinnerin (anyone heard of that? Anyone? Bueller?) "Kitten Soft", which is 57% mohair ans 43% acrylic. The yellow is Spinnerin "Frostlon Petite", which is, this time, 67% mohair and 33% acrylic.
I'm thinking maybe a stripey wrap or something...?

Navy Laceweight

Also from Katie's stash.

I'm probably going to use it for a shawl from the Evelyn Clark kal.
I have no idea what fiber, what yardage....anything.

Random Acrylic

Katie was destashing.

The pink on the left is actually 50% wool, so I'm going to try and overdye it with a prettier color. Is that a totally weird idea??

Gems Opal

The colorway is "Red Woodpecker".100% Merino. 225 yds/100 grams. Most importantly, it's superwash!! US3-5 needle for 5-6 sts/in.

Bernat Frenzy -- from the dollar store

I swapped some Fun Yarn, also from the dollar store, with Katie to get this.

Excuse the horrid crappy pic. :)

It's 37% nylon, 30% acrylic, 12% polyester, and - get this- 10.5% alpaca and 10.5% mohair. I do think the could have saved at least the alpaca for something else, at least something not otherwise full of acrylic, nylon, and polyester. Well, at least it makes it soft. Oh yeah, and 60 yards/50 grams and 3 sts/inch with size US10.5.

Dancing

And the last of my twenty-five-dollar Knit Picks order. Seriously, if I end up getting two skeins of Louet Gems Quartz at the lys, it costs me more than all this. That's why I ♥ Knit Picks. Cheap prices, cheap shipping (like $3.50 for all of this!) and awesome yarns!

It's 41% Cotton, 39% Wool, 13% Nylon, and 7% Elastic, 253 yards/50 grams. The gauge should be around 7-8 sts=1" on US1-US3. Funny thing is, Cascade Fixation is 1.7% elastic, and it's stretchier. I guess it all has to do with the construction.

and the trio of dye-your-owns

For various reasons:

1. Natural Wool of the Andes (worsted weight): 100% Peruvian wool, 4.5-5 sts/inch with size US7-US8 needles, 220 yards/100 grams. This is for my friend Kylie to dye, in Green Day colors (she has yet to find a yarn in black, green and white, the colors on the cover of Warning).

2. Color Your Own (fingering weight): 100% Merino, 7-8 sts/inch on size US1-US3, and 440 yards/100 grams. This one is for a long overdue Team Rogue prize. Sorry Julie, for making you wait for a month and a half.

3. Paint Your Own (laceweight): 100% Merino, 880 yards/100 grams. This one is to be dyed in springy, daffodilly (?) colors for the Flower Basket Shawl.

They are all so soft. I ♥ Knit Picks.

Shine Worsted

1 skein Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Cream.

I got this to dye, but it's such a small skein and I have so much other stuff to dye, I'm just giving it to Anna, because she wants to dye it. It's 60% Pima Cotton and 40% Modal, as you can see, and 75 yards/50 grams. The gauge, however is slightly interesting: the label states it knits up at 4.5-5 sts/inch at size US6 to US9. So the gauge only varies half a stitch with a change of 3 needle sizes. ?

Sock Memories

More from Knit Picks.

1 skein KP Sock Memories in Grandma. I know I can get two ankle socks out of 220 yards, although I'm not sure how much leftover, so, as this is only 192 yards, it might be cutting it close. It's 100% Merino wool (and deliciously soft), and of course 192 yards like I already said. Assuming it knits up like Sock Garden, I'll have about 7.5 sts to 1 inch on size 2s, my favorite gauge for socks.

Sock Garden

This is from my latest KP order.

Knit Picks Sock Garden, colorways Daffodil (top) and Hydrangea (bottom).

100% Merino, 220 yards/50 grams. I like to knit it at 7.5 sts=1" on size 2 needles. Having small feet, I can get a pair of ankle socks out of each skein.

Fun Yarn

This is the Crafter's Square Fun Yarn.
100% polyester, 72 yd, 50 grams. I gave the black to my friend Kylie, and I'm knitting a shawl out of the blue. Purchased at the dollar tree ($3 total!).

Knitpicks stuff

Color your own and Sock Garden.

(sorry for the crappy pic.)

They're both 100% merino. CYO is 880 yards, and I'm not sure about the sock garden. They are both really soft. The red SG is for Red Hot Sizzling Socks and the CYO is for Sockapaloooza. (Well, I'll dye it first.)

Berroco Lullaby

This is 87% Dupont Tactel nylon 13% nylon and 126 yards.

It's SO soft. I'm not sure what it's for yet, though. Something very special.

Lily Sugar'n Cream

From the new Michael's which recently opened.
Lily Sugar'n Cream in Playtime and Hot Pink. It's 100% cotton, 120 yd, and 70g. I'm going to work it in conjunction with some bright yellow Lion Cotton, and make a little-girl tank top.

Knitterly Expedition #1 (1/10/06)

Knitterly loot... Filatura di Crosa Baby Kid Extra. 80% kid mohair, 20% nylon. For a lacy, simple scarf. Soft.

Dusk... no brand name (?). 100% nylon, for a huggable-squeezable-loungeable scarf. Very, very soft and squishy.

Dale "Baby Ull". 100% wool. For gloves or socks, I think. I might try to overdye it.

Uh-oh

I'm using Jessica's idea. I guess, since I have a stash, it should have a blog.
